Concordia University Chicago is grateful for current service members and veterans and is supportive of those who would like to continue their education.
Serving your country doesn’t mean giving up on your goal of completing your masters or PhD degree. At Concordia University Chicago, our programs offer the flexibility and convenience you need to advance your career, even when military service makes your schedule unpredictable.
Multiple financial programs are available to assist veterans and their dependents in achieving a college education. The Post-9/11 GI Bill provides educational assistance to individuals who were on active duty on or after September 11, 2001. One such program under The Post-9/11 GI Bill is the Yellow Ribbon program, in which Concordia-Chicago participates.
The Post-9/11 GI Bill provides financial support for education and housing to individuals with at least 90 days of aggregate service on or after September 11, 2001, or individuals discharged with a service-connected disability after 30 days. You must have received an honorable discharge to be eligible for the Post-9/11 GI Bill.
The Department of Veterans Affairs (DVA) is now accepting and processing applications for the Post-9/11 GI Bill. You can complete and submit the application form online here and will receive written notification from the DVA explaining their decision regarding your eligibility for the program. If you are eligible, your Certificate of Eligibility will advise you if your service meets the requirements for the Yellow Ribbon Program.
